Artist’s Statement
I was 2 years old when my family moved into a new house. My mother told me years ago that on move in day my brother and I were left in one of the empty rooms to play. The adults were outside getting boxes organized and sorted to bring into the new house. I have been told that when the adults came back into the house they found me with a black sharpie in my hands and a smile on my face. I had used each and every freshly painted white wall as a canvas to draw on. I drew different things on each wall with what looked like carefree abandon. Back in the day I did what came to me just as I do now. I do not stick to one thing. I am not a painter, sculptor, printmaker, or fall into any other specific category. I am a creator and do what my artistic nature leads me to do. I carve wood, melt plexi-glass; print on fabrics, take photos, anything that allows me to create art is what I enjoy.
